Introduction Estee Lauder Companies, Inc is a U.S manufacturer and marketer of skin care, cosmetics, hair-care and fragrance products. The companys headquarters are in New York City. It was founded in 1946 by Estee Lauder and her husband Joseph Lauder. Her first step was to convince Madison Avenue to carry her product but she failed. Then she started her business by selling the product directly to the customers. With that success she began to target the high-class customers by selling the product exclusively through boutiques and department store. In 1948, Estee Lauder establish her first department store in New York. The next 15 years the products were selectively distributed in other stores in United States.
